Oh noooooo, NEVER EVER ship the item until the money is cleared in Paypal. You may never get that money !! The hold is because the funds have not been deposited in the Paypal account yet for whatever reason - usually an electronic check etc. that the buyer is using. Call Paypal or eBay asap and explain the situation to them to see if they can clear the funds to you a little faster - it’s a long shot but otherwise you may never see that money. Paypal’s number is 888-215-5506. Good luck and hopefully you get those funds.
Your money is on hold due to ebay and PayPal’s new policies. If you are a new seller or a seller in “high risk” merchandise (such as electronics) your money will be held for a period of time. I am not sure the exact amount of time, as I am an old dog to ebay and I sell low-risk merchandise.
You can find the information you need on the ebay site or simply call PayPal directly. They are really cool to talk to–you actually talk to a live person–well at least you used to before the mass lay-offs they had. LOL
Not to worry though, your payment is in you PayPal account. Just get an answer as to when you can get it out.
The second answer is correct, your money is on hold, not because ebay has not recognized your shipment, but rather that there is now a new policy that allows paypal to hold your funds for up to 21 days in order to ensure that the transaction is completed to the buyers satisfaction.
ebay says:
In a small percentage of cases where it has been determined the risk of dissatisfied buyers is higher, PayPal may delay release of the payment funds to the seller until the buyer has left a positive feedback or 21 days have passed without a dispute, claim, chargeback or reversal filed on that transaction.
It is my understanding that you should have your payment released now!
PayPal will release the hold when the earliest of the following occurs: the buyer leaves positive feedback; 3 days after confirmed item delivery; or 21 days without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal filed on that transaction.
has it been 3 days yet?
As far as ebay showing its shipped, thats because that little console that shows payment received/item shipped/feedback left/feedback received…is a tool for you to help keep track, if you had accepted a check, how would ebay automatically change the symbol to received?
That is not why your funds are being held
You just need to right click the icon and mark the item as shipped, now the little box should be colored.

Your Question Is How do you get Ebay to Recognize That a Item has been shipped & received? ” You go to your Ebay Account (MY EBAY) and on the left of your screen you will see Sold Items Awaiting Shipment, Awaiting Payment, Click on Awaiting Shipment.. The item you sent off through the post office will still show up as not being shipped yet because you didn’t use paypal to ship it.. This item will still have Print Shipping Label on the right beside it. To the left of that item is a box you check mark it & go up to top where you see different options (a drop down box) drop it down to payment received & shipped & it will ask you to Confirm Status & Click enter. But only if the money has cleared. This will let Ebay know it has been shipped already. As far as Paypal goes if the funds have cleared you will see in Blue “Details” next to the buyer’s name. Click on that drop all the way down to the bottom and you are giving the option to REMOVE SHIPPING LINK BUTTON. Click on that. The “Print Shipping Label” Will no longer be there by the buyer’s name. But only do this If the money is cleared through paypal. What do you mean the money is still on Hold? Meaning the funds have not cleared your account? If its still on hold it must be a Echeck & they take anywhere up to 21 days to clear. Depending on the buyer. Just hope your buyer is honest enough not to withdraw their payment since they already have the item. Contact the buyer & ask them nicely when do they expect for their money to clear. In Future never send item until Money is cleared and you have access to the money. The buyer can close out their account with paypal at anytime and that money will stay on hold forever. I had this happen to me one time. I kept waiting & finally after 21 days I had to file a claim against the buyer. They had closed their account on me. But paypal gave me my money back. You can always file a claim against them, if the money never clears. Just hope you got delivery confirmation on the item you sent so you can prove you sent it. Paypal will want that number in order to help you in case funds do not clear. So goodluck…
