I have searched several websites to compare quality of LCD televisions. The name Sylvania doesn’t appear on any review. Are they so bad that they refuse to send their televisions to be reviewed? There are several Sylvania TV’s on the market. Does anyone know why they aren’t compared?

Sylvania is a lower-end brand. Although available for purchase at most major retailers, including Wal-Mart, Sears, Circuit City and Best Buy, their LCDs are almost exclusively available online. Many retailers only sell them during holiday discount periods. Editors of consumer electronics sites generally rate products in comparison to others that are comparable. Sylvania just doesn’t stand up to the major brands, therefore isn’t rated/reviewed.

I worked at sears in electronics for 2 years and im warning you not to buy any sylvania tv product. They are one of the worst tv’s you can buy especially their lcd tvs. If you want an lcd tv make sure you buy a good one such as sony. If you spend the extra couple hundred dollars on name brand you will save yourself alot of money in the future because once an lcd tv breaks the repairs are more expensive than going out and buying a new one (most of the time). And another thing, Im only 20 but i had alot of older customers come into the store telling me how long their last sylvania tv lasted, apparently 15 years ago sylvania was a good tv but its def not anymore.
